Front Row Ventures is looking for a passionate, hardworking, and tech-savvy student to join our Community team as Director for the Ontario chapter.
As the first Director of Community of your chapter, you will support the Managing Director during fundraising, develop new partnerships with key partners (universities / accelerators / incubators / student committees / entrepreneurship centers), and adapt general FRV processes to your chapter’s startup ecosystem. You will also co-manage your chapter’s budget, cash flow, and investment / community teams with your chapter’s Investment Director.
Beyond contributing to regular operations within the team, you will also be responsible for spearheading digital campaigns, developing and maintaining relationships with other online communities, and everything and anything in between. Also responsible for planning and overseeing FRV events, you will have the power build our community by bringing people together – from university campus outreach events to FRV get-togethers. In the role, you will interact with all key stakeholders at many different levels of the startup/tech ecosystem and be the driving force behind the FRV community in Ontario.
You will drive FRV’s entire digital strategy across all online platforms – from blogs to social media sites. You’ll have a large impact in shaping the image of the company, in creative and novel ways.
You will take part in creating a space for the FRV community within a young, fresh, and buzzing ecosystem. You’ll meet everyone from ambitious entrepreneurs to experienced venture capitalists, all while growing and nurturing our own community.
Insight into a new Industry
You will get to witness and experience first-hand the different sides of the tech industry – in a way, gaining a head start for a future career in tech. You will also be able to learn invaluable lessons from veterans of marketing, brand, and PR.
Working directly with multiple founders, you’ll get a deep understanding of what’s it’s like to start a tech company from scratch. In the process, you’ll also learn about many different industries and tech trends.
Not only will you meet the best student entrepreneurs in Canada, but you'll also do it under the mentorship of some of Canada’s best early stage investors.
You will manage your chapter’s community team (3-5 people)
Compensation: Hourly fee in compensation for Services rendered during the Term.
Time Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours / week.
Hours: Flexible working hours and the option to work remotely
